How? When? Where?
Most of the people in the world know about 'Yoga' which was originated in India. Saint Patanjali who was known as the originator of Yoga which the world now is practicing. The book which is known as 'Patanjali Yogic Sutras' is said to be the foundation book for Yoga practise. It is said that saint Patanjali is the incarnation of Adisheshan (1000 heads snake) in which lord Vishnu abodes. Once upon a time Lord Vishnu was worshipping Lord Shiva's dance form in his mind. Suddenly Adisheshan felt heavy weight of lord Vishnu which he was not able to bear. He asked lord Vishnu the same. Lord Vishnu said I was seeing the lord Shiva's dance form in my mind and describes the same to adishesha. Lord Vishnu also explained because of that only he felt huge weight of him. Immediately adishesha also wanted to see lord Siva's dance form and requested lord Vishnu for the same. Lord Vishnu asked adishesha to be born in Chidambaram (Chidambaram which is the place in tamilnadu and where Lord shiva has a temple and called 'Thillai Natarajar'. Lord Shiva postrates in this temple in dance form). So adishesha was born to aathreya maharishi in Chidambaram and able to see lord shiva in dance form in chidambara temple regularly. Saint Patanjali used to take classes to his students in asariri (only voice will be heard by the students). Students will not be able to see him physically. Since, Patanjali is an incarnation of adishesha, even the breath of him will kill the person standing opposite. Because of this Saint Patanjali used to teach his students in asariri roopam. Saint Patanjali has written a book called 'Vyakarana Mahabhashyam'. To know about the 'Vyakarana Mahabhashyam', thousands of people gathered in Chidambaram Natarajar temple. Patanjali had a wish to teach this 'Vyakarana Mahabhashyam' to each and every person individually. So he decided to seat all those people who came for 'Vyakarana Mahabhashyam' in the thousand pillars hall in Chidambaram Natarajar temple. To teach this to every individual seperately at the same time he takes the form of thousand headed Adisheshan. However he had a fear that the poisonous breath of him will kill the person who sits opposite to him and listens the bhashyam. So he decided to sit behind a thick screen curtain and all the students will be sitting opposite the curtain. He has only one condition to the student that no one should remove the curtain. He started the teaching of Mahabhashyam' to everyone individually. He started to answering the questions raised by each and every person individually. His voice was so clear and attractive.
So this was the first online class whic was taken by Patanjali Munivar during Vedic period at thousand pillar hall of Chidambaram Natarajar Temple.
